Most Unusual G-Body Engine Swap You’ve Ever Seen?

I just seen a GP on CL with one running for 3g

Done, and done properly are two very different things. Seller didn't even build it...

It still costs about $3000-5000 to properly swap in an LS.
Man o man, I wish I could keep my LS swap below $5k, but that isn't going to happen! Starting off with a fresh short block helped, but needing a complete stable cam and valvetrain with heads, FEAD, induction(yeah the Holley is more of a OCD thing for me lol), boost, trans, etc and I will do good to come in around $10k 😕!!!

That's why I thought that POS gp on CL was a good deal even for a parts car

Oh that is without anything fancy; just a stock engine that fits, runs, drives, and ain't about to burst into flames.

You want a fast LS? 10-15K.

Her genital warts or penis aren't easily seen through that dress she is wearing.

Put down the beer and back away slowly.

If everyone was doing it we would see more swaps. There may be 10 guys actively doing it on faceballs, and 3 gents here at anyone one time. There are still 1000:1 odds there is a still a Gen SBC in the next G-Body hotrod you see.

I was referring to the guy I replied to. I'm well aware of the costs involved in swapping these, I have one.

Saying these are everywhere is tongue in cheek. LS swaps are popular but still pretty rare in the grand scheme. Turbocharged ones are orders of magnitude fewer still.

You go to car shows and everyone says they know a dozen people with one but can't actually produce proof. They just don't exist in the numbers people think they do. Mine is one of the rare ones that actually works and gets driven quite a bit.

Ecotecs are RWD in sky/solstice. Even cheap, RWD 5 spd manual transmissions are available at the junkyard (wide ratio, too, perfect for an RPM limited Diesel). A Malibu or Lemans with a 400 lb less motor and no AC and a general lightening would be pretty light. Power steering but manual brakes, manual trans. Rear axle would be a 7.625 with good axles and a limited slip. Removable frame allows us to easily build / reinforce the chassis.

The Race weight of our 2+2 is close to 4,000lbs and we beat the crap out of it. A 3,200 car going 1/2 as fast should be able to take a lot of punishment.

There's this......https://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/d/78-malibu/6436260653.html
