Ft Mill down to Rock Hill is basically North Carolina. Most of "car stuff" is Charlotte based. Even though its not very far as the crow flies, there is no real road between Ft Mill and Greenville/the Upstate so there isn't much interaction. There were many places in SC we used to say "you can't get there from here"

20 years ago the Buick club was huge and we go to drag racing events throughout NC/SC all summer, from Atlanta Dragway to Farmington, NC and all the 1/8 mile tracks in between.

Some towns like Darlington didn't have a Buick dealer and didn't know how fast Turbo Buicks were. I could have made $1000's if I was a betting guy. They were all shocked how fast my Buick was when it was still basically stock (high 12's back in the 1990's). Their heads would have exploded if they saw how fast it ran a few years later looking even stocker (11.50's on radials thru the stock air box).

Good for you and good luck in SC ! Ive lived on LI my whole life and I'd love to leave but the wife doesnt want to go. Stupid high taxes, crime getting worse, gun laws suck. Its just not what it was when I was growing up. Most of my friends left long ago. My wife and I are both done with work. Both of my kids are grown and want to leave. My sons a radiology tech at Good Sam and does per diem at another hospital and he cant even buy a decent house. We have to deal with the citiots every summer. It sucks. Im so jealous !!
I here ya my kids are grown too it's really us 2 we left ny to live in FL spent 13 years there then the wife wanted to come back to be around her family and see the seasons change now 9 years later we out like you said taxes, crime and prices of houses and other stuff can't really afford to live there comfortable SC is beautiful and clean and it's 73 degrees right now lol.

Any body recommends a track I should visit or can go on Friday or Saturdays in NC/SC. We bought a house in York,SC so pretty close to the borderline of NC.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new home. I've always heard (from my friends) that the taxes out in Long Island were ridiculously high. We moved out of (Brooklyn) NY 26 yrs ago and I wouldn't go back there to live if you paid me. In fact, an old buddy of mine will be moving down from West Islip in the coming year. He can't wait, one of his son's (and family) is already living down here.
I've heard about the gang activity recently on the news. Another reason to get the flock out of there.
Good luck!

Welcome to sc. Lots of tracks scattered everywhere in sc/nc. There used to be a track in Pageland sc which isn't to far from charlotte, ft. mill, rock hill area. Used to be some fast cars up there. Think its still open as far as i know.Lots of luck here in sc. I stay closer to the coast about 45 min from myrtle beach

That's what I was saying earlier... if there was a only a road, York to the Greer dragway would only be about a 40 minute drive... but you literally cannot get there from there.

Shadyside is in Shelby NC, about 35 miles NW of York. I never went there, but some of my car friends loved it. York does have a road to Shelby.
