MSD issues

Well my problem is we installed my 6AL box wired it up as the instruction says the issue im having is the car will not turn on it will turn over but not run can anyone help out. This is a 2nd box i have tried and same out come i have a SBC 350 with HEI dizzy.We followed the instruction to a tee and tried to trouble shoot the issue with the trouble shooting instructions.Any advise will be great.

You're better off to run a distributor that works with the box. I have tried the HEI conversion and never liked it. If you ask me that is where the problem is

There are two separate HEI setups for a SBC.
Is yours a vacuum advance HEI? if so you need MSD 8861 kit (less than $15.00) it replaces the module in the dizzy with just wires and then it will work.

I had same issue with my MSD Digital 6 plus. Works great now.

Yes mine has vaccum advance and i did purchase part 8861 but no spark is happening.

Ok figured out the problem we had wired it for the 4 pin HEI system i have a 5 pin system so i redid it now the problem is it will start but shuts off right away what might be the issue now.

sounds like you have power to the box and/or the distributor with the key on start position but not on run

Any ideals of what i can check or do i rechecked all my connects 3 or 4 times.

I had some issues with my MSD setup also and I called the tech line and they were very helpful and diagnosed and solved my problem in about 15mins..

is the box new or used? If it's used make sure none of the loop wires have been cut
