Mufflers

That does sound good but doesn't tell you anything. Mine isn't much different at idle but very different under hard throttle. Interior padding and exhaust routing make big difference as well. My 2.5" single exhaust on my 2000 Dakota Club cab with a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler sounds nearly stock inside but aggressive outside, best of both worlds.

It may not terll me everything but along with other videos it gives me a good indication what to expect. Plus tc1959 travels around heading to car shows with his wife and dogs. I'm sure if the exuasat was too loud or there was a drone his wife and dogs would have complained and the mufflers would have been changed. The reviews on the Hooker Aerochamber are that there is a drone at 1800 rpm. At 120 kilometers in 5th gear I'm at 1900 rpm so I am not interested in any muffler no matter how they sound that will have a constant drone at highways speeds.

Another thing is I go camping in the summer where sounds really travel. I do not want to upset other campers if I start it up in the morning

No drone at any speed, I like it.

Since I don't have the finances to try all the mufflers to see which one I want I'm going with the Flowmaster 50 series. It's nice to have a great loud sounding exhaust if it was just a weekend cruiser but it's my daily driver in the summer. Thanks for all the suggestions...🙂

Let us know. My Race 40's are getting loud and the wife always complains. I'm getting older and will be looking for alternatives soon.

The 50 series is an excellent muffler, a little quiet for my taste, but it sounds like a throaty stock muffler. Flowmaster makes a great product.

the 50 series comes in the Super like tc1959 has and Delta which is slightly louder. There is a video of a test with Flowmaster and for the interior they had 83.0 decibels while cruising for the Super and 83.3 for the Delta

It looks like pontiacgp is about to finally have a quieter car than my Monte, though we will both have Flowmasters.
