Cut out the spare tire well to make room for my battery box.

How'd you fill the hole for your spare wheel well? I cut mine since it was rusted through but haven't gotten around to filling it yet (just has a piece of sheet metal over it) Sick build - that thing's going to be mean when it's done!

Just cut out a piece of sheet metal and welded it in. Then I undercoated the bottom of it and primered the top. I might weld a support underneath just to make everything more secure but that will be sometime in the future.

Thanks for the positive feedback! 😀

Couple little updates for everyone!

Since I cut my original inner fenders out, I had to make some new ones. Took some sheet metal and formed it to the shape of the wheel openings. Grabbed a couple floor mats and a whole bunch of self tapping screws, and went to town! They function like they should and IMO look a lot better than the stock plastic ones. Eventually I will paint them black but for now it will look like this:

Installed my exhaust cutouts:

Custom exhaust - Reduced to 2.5" after the cutouts to dual Flowmaster 50 series delta flows dumping before the rear axle.

A little update for anybody that has been following my build!

Picked up a 8.5" rear end for $150! I plan on rebuilding everything (Moser axles, Eaton Posi, 3.73 gears etc)

Also paid next to nothing for a set of Moroso drag springs, Lakewood lift bars, and a stock sway bar that looked a lot better than my original one..

Didn't like how my back wheels were fitting. I ordered the wrong back spacing on the rear(4.5") and the tires were rubbing, not to mention the tire was a little too tall for my liking. Went and picked up a set of 15x8 with a 3.5" back space and love the fitment a lot better. Also got some 26x10.50 Mickey Thompson ET Street bias plys and I absolutely love them. I also weighed the rears vs. the fronts and the rear wheels were 2.5lbs ligher at 32.5lbs!

Looks good.

The Drag Stars look tight. What radiator/mount did you use?

Nice score! Car is coming along nicely, you'll need an upgraded rear end to get all that power down....

This is an awesome build keep up the good work!
