I would put a 355 in it instead. It won't cost much more, but you get a ton more torque. Mine is actually more fuel efficient around town with the 355 than it was with the 231 V6. My car also is made to look pretty much stock under the hood, and most people would never notice. It even idles stock down to 650rpm. The extra torque, coupled with better gearing means you don't need as much throttle to drive it in stop and go traffic. It's so bad for me that I am always accidentally screeching the tire(s) from a dead stop. I would also recommend a 3.23 gear if you have a TH 200 4R trans. In fact, if you don't go to a 355, at least do the gears. It's the single worst thing about an LG4 305 G body and it kills fuel economy and performance. You can gear a car too low, and 2.41 gears are DEFINITELY too low! I got a complete 3.23 rear axle for $50 out of the junkyard, so it's not at all expensive.

Thanks for the tips I do like to gear swap idea and think I will add that to the list.

I am kinda partial to Poncho power.

There is a guy on MalibuRacing selling a Pontiac 350 /th350 combo cheap.

Just an idea, nice machine!

Yeah, the 350 is only second to the 301 as Pontiacs whipping boy.

I prefer the P350 over the C350 for a true driver, not just because I am a Pontiac gut either.

The P350 just out torques it (SBC).

We put a mild cam in one and stuck it in my friends Lemans. He could drive it anywhere and run mid 13z at the track.

Plus it would be nice to have a Pontiac with a Pontiac in it.

I to love the Pontiac engines and have owned many Pontiacs but with this particular car it is about keeping it stock as possible because I am the original owner and the car is all original. The only thing I want to do is mod it enough to make it able to get out that turtle's way when it comes up behind me.

very nice, interior looks flawless ..always liked the instrument panels in the GPs

You should leave that car stock and be proud of it! Not many people can say they have a g-body that clean and original let alone be the original owner. Looking at it kinda makes me wish mine was still like that 8)
