We have someone on this site who did an LT1 swap with the Impala compressor in it's stock location. It may have been the tolerance stackup in his particular car, but it fit VERY close to the rail without hitting. As for the car, it looks good. I can't wait to see how it turns out after you are finished with the proof of concept phase and do the final assembly and detailing. I do have a few questions though: How do you like the shifter position? Is it comfortable? Also, how did you get the speedometer to work, was a VSS part of the kit, or did you need to adapt the cable to the tailshaft?
for the stock a/c location, you'd have to notch out the frame... I've got a 56 page download from a guy who put one in an '86 SS (IIRC), documented down to the wiring.... just don't know how to send it to another computer...85 Cutlass Brougham said:
Nice SS!! That looks like the Vette only accessory setup. They are very hard to come by. The Gauges look like Nordskog Gauges. I may go with the Dakota digital Gauges for my LT1 Swap into my 86 or 84 SS.
