Re: My Bu's "Re"Build Thread- Latest Pics 6/28/11

I got the valve covers and air cleaner on. Then decided the pre fit Accel wires just weren't gonna cut it(they were yellow with orange boots). Made some custom wire looms out of stuff I had laying around and then cut and routed the new MSD wires the way I wanted too. There is still more work to be done but it's looking better. Oh and pay no attention to the yellow ziptie on the wire loom, it's temporary.

Looking good! I love what you did with the valve covers and air cleaner!

That thing is awesome , but I think that super charger needs some paint now.

Re: My Bu's "Re"Build Thread- Latest Pics 7/17/11

Thanks guys, the supercharger will be getting a fresh coat and the I already have the hard lines to bend up to replace 98% of the rubber. Just need to decide if i'm moving the regulator first. I also have a cover for the radiator and i'm sure there is a few more things I can't think of right now. Local car show is the 23rd, so just trying to get presentable for that, even though i'm more concerned with it runnging good for the burnouts afterwards.

Re: My Bu's "Re"Build Thread- Latest Pics 7/17/11

As mentioned elsewhere, the burnout didn't go so well. Almost got hit and the wheel hop was so bad it spit out a body mount. I thought the frame had just rotted to the point of having to do something about it, but on a slightly positive note, it was just the bottom part of the mount that had disintegrated. I ended up having to cut through the trunk to get at the top of the cage nut to cut it out but the trunk floor needs work anyhow. And for now, no more bumper banging on bumps, lol.
Also mentioned in another post, after fixing a small fuel leak, my regulator started leaking. Until I get another one,
I decided to use JB Weld to stop the leak. It worked, but now the regulator doesn't seem to be doing anything, guage gets pegged around 15psi. No more cruising until I get a new regulator now.
Since I had some extra clearance with the new air cleaner, I put in a 1" phenolic carb spacer to try to isolate the heat from the blower. I had no extra slack in the throttle cable so I hit the books at work and found one slightly longer that would work. Everything went fairly smooth there. So now i'm down to possibly repllacing the driver side rear body mount and getting a new regulator, then running my feed and return lines. And I also have a set of lower control arms on their way here that I plan to box and throw on the car to help with wheelhop.
Then i'm gonna go beat the hell out of it.
