Thanks! It really isn't hard to do it.

I cut that slip fit connect plug off. Good riddance too. I always had connection issues with it. All those connections on the floppy circuit board have a high resistance too. I had bypassed several of them over the years.

I unwrapped the harness bundle some so I could get a little more length from the original wires in order to directly connect them to the Dakota controller box. Worked out real slick.

I love what you have done there. I have been contemplating on doing the Dakota digital cluster gauges.
Thanks!
Like has been said, it's expensive. I feel you really do get your money's worth though. Plus, Dakota has a lifetime warranty on their stuff. Quality products and I think a great company. I have no doubt they will be around for a long time to come.

Nice looking setup. I just done the same install. Drove the car this week to calibrate speedometer, don't feel fuel gauge is correct. Any issues with yours?

0 to 90 ohm. I'm going to empty tank and start there. Factory gauge showed between 1/2 and 3/4 new setup shows full.

I was a little confused why DD recommended running new pair of wires to the tank sender and putting a twist in them. Evidently experience has told them that there can be issues with electrical noise causing interference and gauge reading problems.
I decided to try it first by just hooking up the factory wire and leaving their separate ground terminal open. I had read some reports on forums where people did this without issues. So far, mine seems fine. I have not done any real checking for accuracy and haven't filled it completely up yet as I've only driven the car maybe 50 miles since installing the gauges. It just seems that it's reading about where it should be based on how much gas I left in the tank. I will fill up and watch it closely while recording my mileage to make a further assessment on it.

I had a issue with their harness for the oil pressure. While I was on the phone with them I ask about the fuel gauge he said I didn't need the extra wire.

Update.

I added a Dakota PAC-2750 fan controller to my system. The new headers I just installed on my LT1 engine made it problematic to put temperature senders in either of the heads. Adding the Dakota fan controller allowed me to only use the one sender that the VHX gauges provides.
I moved the VHX sending unit to the water drain port just above the oil pan on the driver side.

Here's where I mounted the fan controller:
