My '85 Grand Prix came to me with the power seat stuck all the way down, in the rearward position. The coupler was stripped, and I tried disconnecting the cables to move it, without much success. As you all probably know, there are two nuts in the rear that are impossible to access when this happens. After a couple weeks of driving gangster style, I finally figured out that I could remove the trim from the seat tracks, and unbolt the seat from the tracks. After removing the seat, it was easy to remove the transmission, (and the two inaccessible nuts) and after going through it, I found my only problem was the coupler, which I drilled and pinned. I also cleaned and lubed the tracks, and I suppose if the transmission dies, I will convert to the 3 motor setup.
