The stud was still there. My buddy had that happen on his 408 in his fox body.
Edelbrock heads will definitely need repair. The only questionable items left is are the bores.

Nah. It's going to cost enough.

Years ago I built a 350 and reused the rod bolts. I was breaking in the cam when one of the bolts snapped and the engine locked up. I wound up cracking the block and wiping out the crank. If the block is salvageable that’s a plus.

side note- the rods appear to have not been the cause at from what I see. Unfortunately they’re looking like progressive damage?

So valve broke, rattled back into the intake and then bounced around the intake. Ish.

Are those Edelbrock valves?

The Edelbrock heads and valves are good quality. A stuck valve usually happens early on in the build, strange that it stuck after a good number of miles.

...................................yet the weak 455 Olds bottom end held up. 😏

No broken springs? Were you pretty tight on piston to valve clearance? I've seen the head snap off of a lot of valves at the stem, but I've never seen part of the head snap off before.
