No disagreeing that the 4BT makes a great swap, but define reasonable and patient...........

I see complete 4bt powered step vans go for around $4k. On eBay, you can get a complete engine on a pallet for $3k......but that's a bit risky IMO. Like anything else......a deal may come along tomorrow......or 6 months from now.....I bought a complete step van from a plumber 30 miles from my house for $2k...... He had no idea the 4bt had any value.

You guys are nuts 🤣 I just want to be able to pull a trailer up a hill in third gear with the A/C on. And I'd love to find any other loopholes to get out of emissions testing.

So if I go diesel which stacks should I go with? Put them in the bed or go full retard and just stick it right out the hood? Or if I go with a 5.8L just do some gasser stacks like a Lil Red Express?

You guys crack me up 😂. I got some areas painted with the POR15 this morning. I don't know what that seam sealer is that Ford used underneath the cowl panel, but its messy and gets all over the place. I scraped out as much of it as I could and I wiped down with some lacquer thinner then brushed on the POR15. There is not a lot of access to that cowl area so I just has to do the best I could with it . I'll get a second coat of POR-15 on tonight and then I'll probably seam seal tomorrow.

After I got the first coat on I took a ride down to Heinz Field where they were having a pretty big car cruise. Lots of sponsors and Dave Kindig from Bitchin Rides was there. I've never watched the show so I don't know anything about his work but people were lined up to pay $25 for his autograph. I've got better ways to spend my money, but I did snipe a picture-

There were a few G Bodies probably the coolest one was a diesel 4 door Cutlass. Saw some Ford truck inspiration too.

Got home just in time to put a second coat of POR-15 on. It needs to dry overnight and I'll probably do seam sealer tomorrow.

So I did get the seam sealer on yesterday, just didn't get a chance to post. I think the Fusor 800DTM came out really well, it's probably one of my favorite seam sealer products.

The 3M clear seam sealer was ehhh... This was the first time I've used it and it is not very workable. The way it comes out of the tube is the way it looks. It can't be smoothed over with thinner or brushed, and it doesn't tool nicely even though the instructions say it does. I wouldn't use it anywhere that is visible. Luckily it will be hidden by the windshield trim. I have yet to test for leaks but I'm praying I've got them all.

I also ordered a new cowl to hood seal from Bronco Graveyard that should be here later this week.

It rained last night.... anddd it leaked. I didn't have a whole lot of time to look at where it's leaking but I think the windshield is coming out. I'll have my guy replace it. Fahk!

I pulled up most of the failed 3M sealant today. I mostly used needle nose pliers to get it out. The rest should come out with the glass itself. My cowl seal came in the mail earlier this week. It looks good, should be better than what I had. I'm going to see if I can get the windshield replaced this week.
