My 'New' 87 Regal Thread

Thanks for the info. I have a 60/40 with a power driver seat. The seats are all faded and while comfortable, I don't really like the "Grandma's Living Room" vibe too much. New headliner, and if those Monte SS buckets and rear seat pop up again on craigslist in spring that will be on my modification list. Plus a burgundy T Type wheel and attempt to make a horn work. I've never had a car with a working horn. All two of my cars have been loud as hell so I always just revved. lol.

No problem, buckets will go right into your car. I wasn't a fan of the grandma's living room look either, but worse than that, the PO's dog ate giant holes into the seats so they had to go. I didn't want to totally get rid of the 'old lady car' look, which is why I kept most of the chrome trim, kept the column shift, still run 15" Buick Rally wheels with whitewalls and shaved all the exterior emblems.

Well I tore down my distributor today with plans on rebuilding it, and found a few issues with it. The aluminum base has a small crack in it, the shaft has excessive play, both advance springs were broken, and there was a ton of corrosion in it. As much as I like fixing things, I think it may be better/cheaper to replace it. I found a brand new, complete 65k coil HEI unit on eBay for $100, I think I'll go for it. It comes with a lifetime unlimited warranty, so seems like a decent deal.

Yeah. Great price and great people to deal with. I have this one in my motor. I wing it to 5500 with the stock TA stuff in it and it works wonders with that cam I have. I imagine you could have them match it to your combo, your one could mix and match weights and springs to get it just right. Out of the box, runs fantastic. You can get red, black, and clear caps.
