Ok, to start I dont know if this is the correct location for this post.
I am a ex-gm tech that turned into a service manager. My First Car was a 82 Buick Regal. It was on its 2nd engine and needed a 200c trans rebuilt. It wasnt long for this world. I then moved onto other Buicks.
I am buying a 83 Regal this Saturday. The current owner states that there is no rust except where he removed the vynal 1/2 roof. He has sent me pictures. I see holes from rivets and the studs, of course there is rust on between the door window and 1/4 glass and the 1/4 to rear glass, the paint was removed with the top.
Plans for this vehicle, is to clone a Grand National. No 3.8 engine tho. MIGHT put air bag suspension on it. It will be driver and sit OUTSIDE. That is key, it will sit outside. The garage has my other custom vehicle in it.
So, I work at a dealership. The body shop has a guy that does side work and will prep the upper half (body line up), weld holes, grind down the studs repair the rust. Then primer it what ever I want.
The questions are:
1) What kind of product should I use? It will be mulitple years if at all that I paint it.
2) What color? (The lower half is faded marron)
