get your keyboard open and go to numbers , hit 0 and the ° should be to the right of 0 on the pop up. My 6 year old grandson showed me that one...

Don't use tap water.

I've been using it for years, never had an issue. My dad has also used it for his whole life, and has never had an issue. What matters most is probably the content of your tap water, and changing it reasonably frequently (every few years.)

Our water is very hard. Lots of minerals. You make a good point though. Water is not the same everywhere. Distilled water is cheap though.

I get 5 gallons of distilled water for $3.50. I use it for my keurig coffee maker....
