Just because you don't know about transmission doesn't mean you can learn about them.We all started out knowing nothing. But if you choose to get it done let the builder get the kit, the kits he uses has to be good or he wouldn't use it plus he may get a discount if he buys enough of them.

Too bad you weren't closer, I would give you the one in my 70, going 2004R. Shifts almost like a shift kit. I had to add 5 liters when I drove the 6 hours home, adding at every stop. Tossed stop leak at the last stop, not a drop since. I am building it for racing eventually. It has the kick down hooked to the gas pedal. Otherwise I always used the tear drop style that hooks to the bottom of the linkage.
