Sigh. 1999 Ford Taurus here... it is my penance for hot rodding everything else we own. Came from my wife's grand parents - virtually spotless. I have only had to do oil changes, a belt, and some tires since it was safetied (battery, tie rod, swaybar end link, etc). Heat, A/C, starts, runs, Natasha dropped it into a ditch last Winter, still runs.

I have a Monte Carlo ss with the 3.8 but it's been blowing brakes lines and parts of the suspension are rusting off

If you want to get from point A to point B and don't really care how fast you get there... Camry or Corolla.

If you want an "American" car that has a little umph behind it, get an older front wheel drive Regal with the supercharged 3.8. You get the creature comforts and it's easily made faster. They've been pretty cheap recently.

Newer fwd version I'm guessing
Oh yeah I guess I'm just so used to thinking 70 71 and 83-88 and my neighbor and sister-in-law both have those intimator black ones. I guess that's how much of a non front wheel drive guy I am lol

2000-2007 supercharged 3.8 then 5.3 v8 for the last 2 years. Pretty quick cars but I could never embrace the body style. The 3.8 is dead reliable, supercharger not so much

Yes it's a 2000 monte Carlo ss. I have to drive further now and I want something that is not as rusty and gets better than 19 mpg like that car is. quite honestly my cutlass is probably more reliable than the Monte Carlo is right now
