I'd have to say you've got a good plan there. Put the Sportmans on the TPI and, like you say, you can always upgrade in the future. Better base, better runners, porting. That LT4 HotCam is a SWEET cam! I had a Comp hyd roller very simular and it has a nice lope to it but it makes gobs of low & mid range torque.

Here's an excellant writeup on differant TPI based setups. Granted it's done with a 383 and a cam that is really bigger than some of the combinations needed. Use this as a guide to see the hp/tq ranges of differant setups.
