I'm having similar issues. Carb was rebuilt now mechanic can't keep it running or when it will stay running it idled high as hell only to die out when you hit gas. Wasn't doing any of this before hand just ran rich. Please help. Down for all options.

find a mechanic who knows the car and the carb, they are getting hard to find. You can always send the carb out to have it rebuilt and the guys in here will let you know a good place to sent it

Sounds like you got a bum rebuild or your mechanic is a bum. I gotta admit, a quadrajet is not for the faint of heart, especially an electronic one.

My mechanic is a good man. Definitely told me before hand he wasn't an expert at qjets. Wanted to give him a shot at it since he's done all my other work, that's just loyalty. But now that that's done, I need someone to fix this sh*t! Thinking of just buying a reman from a few years prior skip the electric choke and ride off into the sunset...

Good place to send it sounds like the next viable route.

Everyday Performance is where I got my last Qjet. It was fantastic. Started first crank every time and stayed running. Even after sitting a few days, sometimes a week or two. 333 bucks or an extra two hundred or so if you want it all repainted and replated.

Thanks for the suggestion, gonna look into it!

It's slightly more expensive then buying a new Holley or Edelbrock, but you can get it tuned to your exact application per request. You can also send your carb in and they can rebuild it for you for cheaper.
