You can start by taking ONE spring off and seeing how it operates. Then if it feels and operates the way you like, you're done for the most part. Looks to me like you're going to have to do some real-world testing.
Good point. I was thinking just trying to get the heavy throttle fixed at this point. My 85 came from the factory with no spring because the factory didn't think I needed it I guess. The factory 85 Olds Qjet spring is an orange, double spring wound into itself so at first glance it looks like a single spring. It's not the inner/outer deal like on chevies.I like to have 2 springs in case one breaks...
