Hi all i just picked up a chevy 350 tbi from that friend of mine today and i got it to my house thing is tho i wana clean it up a lil when its out, but i dont no of any cleaners or stuff thatll take off caked on greese or dirt, also whats the best way to bring back crome valve covers that have a lil bit of rust othem?, all help is a thank you 🙂 and this is kinda goin off topic a lil bit but im selling a good roller car, if anyones interested in buying a project for a good father son build this would be it, its a 1987 pontiac trans am firebird, all there except engine, thats the one i just took out 🙂 but it has ttops and a great trans, shifts at 6k rpm all the time its a 700r4, has also 3.73's posi rear, and like i said great project car for beginer or just a daily driver car to beat on.... call me at 732 908 0099 if interested and sorry to the administrators but i figured itll b a lil easer to just combine everything into one post, :blam: 8)

Oven Cleaner works wonders, yep, nothing like dollar store oven cleaner and maybe a wire brush, hose it off afterwards, let dry, then repaint....exact steps i took, can see pics in my profile as far as cleaning the rusty valvecovers use the finest steel wool you can find then use a chrome polish, sometimes polish alone will work, depends on how rusty they are though.....hope them valve cover hold downs work good for ya

^What ha said^

But I just have to add this. Oven cleaner works good on an engine OUT OF THE CAR. Don't use it on your engine bay. Because the stuff will destroy your wiring.
