IIRC, he had a Qjet on his 6. Carbs of that era were not friendly. There's a reason early 80s Jeeps often have Webers.

Did the seller gift-wrap it for you?

Holiday tradition, every (running)car gets a bow for the season

View attachment 78371 If it has a carter carb, good luck. I think you could punch a few holes in a soda can and it would run better.
I have a 76 CJ5 with a 258. It had a one barrel carter I rebuilt that ran well for a minute. I ended up putting a two barrel intake and went with a ford mc2150. (108venturi) Wow, what a difference..I probably have a couple rebuild able 2150's laying around if need be...timo22
I believe it has a BBD on it currently, but I haven't really torn into it. I have heard the Motorcraft carb can be an upgrade

Wow a Motorcraft carb, an upgrade. Yah the BBD carb is no hell. The small 2bbl Motorcraft carb is decent. The big one is a gas hog and most of the 4bbls are terrible. Those Eagle's are oddities for the time but I would own one any day over the current ugly crossovers, this being the first of the breed.

Well, here ya go!
there is a rule on this forum, without pictures we don't believe you....😛

axis and driven got it before I could... If you do a search you'll probably find his thread on non-g projects.... he had quite a bit of detail on them IIRC...

I occasionally look through the local CL ads, and they pop up every so often, but are usually priced pretty high... would love to have one. nice score!
