Wow I've never seen someone hate a v6 so much before haha. In my humble opinion, I think volkswagen engines are HUGE pieces of sh*t. Its easy to run forever when u make 28 horsepower. Those engines sound like derranged lawnmowers. Not even getting into modern vdubs. The engineering of a 90 degree v6 is the same as a 90 degree v8. They are balanced and run smooth. Most of them are extremly reliable. Considering many automobiles have v6s I guess there "terrible" concept works. Boxer engines are great engines, at least we agree on that. Kudos on ur years of engine building. I guess I was ******** my diaper when u were setting the valves on ur volkswagen every weekend. Btw, what machine shops were u in that had broken v6 cranks on a regular basis?

Just my opinion. All in good humor. My f150 has a v6 in it. 197k on it. U wanna write a love letter to that as well?

I have a stock 231 v6 1980 non ac no air pump that has no power but when it's wet out loves to go side ways and do burnouts the v6s were mainly for cruising like the 260s but with alot less top end I love my v6 especially with the stock exhaust that makes it sound like a v8 going down the road 😀 but a bbo is in the future for it because they are a bit slow

"A V6 engine doesn't even make good sense from an engineering prospective, much less a hotrodding prospective...lol. A 60* V6 is about 10 times more logical than a 90* one is....they're just dumb." ??? Did that make sense? You mean ill-logical?

Yea their just dumb. Plus 283 HP & 260TQ from a naturally aspirated V6 that runs on 87 octane gets great fuel economy and that universally fits many platforms could never find its way into a light hot rod.

I bought a 91 Grand Caravan from my father in law once. He bought it new and I got it from him with 130,000 miles and sold it with 250,000. Nothing more serious than a water pump. Well plus a transmission but thats not the engines fault. He also bought an 89 Buick Park Avenue brand new with the series II 3800. ie ye ole Buick 3.8 and later sold it to his son who later sold it to his son who later sold it with 320,000 on the clock with nothing but maintenance, water pump alternator that type thing. Yea they are a bad design and just plain dumb. And well known for busted cranks.

Come to think of it Fords new F-150 that keeps getting rave reviews is powered by a V6 ecoboost. Think it even upsets some of the other Ford truck owners that have the wonderful new 5.0 & 6.2 that they get beat in quatermile runs by it and out towed by it while getting superior mileage unloaded. Yea your right their is just nothing you can do with a V6 their dumb.

my son has a nice v6 twin turbo in his 335 xi and it goes pretty nice..

Two of those magic turbos would probably make that thing fly.

v6 are ok... i drive a nice slow one as a dd and get bad gas milage. have buillt a few supercharged 3800. they can be a great engine.... to bad no amount of transmission work could hold them. most being gtp, regal gs, bonnies a riviera. also helped on a turbo impala. most were very fast but changing trannys got old and moved on to other cars
