i have a 1980 olds cutlass calais with the gauges package. the gauges do not work so i took them out about two yrs ago. then life caught up with me,got married etc. now i am working on the car again and noticed a few things missing like the tempurature gauge needle and the volt meter needle minor details if sure. all the diagrams i see show two male plug ins for the dash and there is a spot for two plugs on the back of the gauges but i only have one male plug is this right or am i missing something? help!!!

Sounds like you'll need to source the two plugs and re-pin your leads to accommodate the new setup. Try hitting the boneyard and either cut the (two) plugs out of a car, or pull the dash harness out. It probably couldn't hurt to grab the whole under dash harness.

Also, find yourself a good wiring diagram. That will help enormously.

id look around your harness a bit more,it would stand to reason if you have the gauges to begin with and later swapped them out the plugs would still be there albeit one may be tucked away provided you didnt just cut it off which i doubt as it would seem a bit unnecessary.dash isnt hard to pull out at all otherwise it still wouldnt be hard to give it a good looking through while in place
