The published data on an SBC is about 575 lbs. A 455 Olds big block only weighs about 620 lbs. The 307 is a short deck small block and has the lightweight block casting with windowed main webs. The published data I have shows it being LESS than the traditional SBC. Now, if you're talking an aluminum LS series motor, that's a different story.
