Hello G-Body Fam,

I'm new to the channel and this is the first G-Body that I've owned. My stepfather purchased a new Olds Cutlass Supreme back in 82 and I've always wanted one. Take a look at my 85 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham that I got in July. One owner with 87K original miles. Runs great but a few things that I need checked out....
1) power seat doesn't move (the seat seems to be over the bolts so I have to figure that out... any advice on moving the seat???)
2) no reverse lights
3) windshield washer fluid not working
4) slow weak start when cold... but does start even after sitting a couple weeks
5) shifts hard into drive and reverse

I'll post in the proper forums as I tackle each issue...I'm no mechanic so I'm looking forward to learning from all of you!

Welcome to the GBodyForum!
Nice Cutlass. It looks to be in very nice shape.
I would first start with checking your fuses to be sure they are all good. Then be sure the plugs are clean and plugged in the reverse lights, seat motor and wiper pump. For #4 and #5 on your list be sure your battery is in good shape and your charging system is charging properly. You probably have a 200-4R trans if you have a V8 engine. I don't know too much about those transmissions as I have a TH400 in mine but you will want to make sure your fluid level is full, clean and not burned. It should be red, not brown.
Hope this gets you started.

Thanks for the great advice SS_Malibu. The weather is going to be nice this week so I am definitely going to check all fuses this week. I checked the bulbs and they seem good. The seat motor works, seat just doesn't move at all...broken coupler which I already purchased but I can get to the bolts. I'll check out the transmission fluid as well and maybe just take it for a flush. Thanks again brother, I appreciate the reply!
