View attachment 55511 View attachment 55512 well, when summit sells $130 cam and lifter sets... and your local advance auto parts has a comp cams double roller timing set that's been sitting there since the store opened... you waste time and money on a 305! i have sooooo much body and maintenance work to do, my
motor swap plans are last, i figure i should just get a LITTLE bit of extra cheap pep (and a cool idle, very important hahaha) out of the slug 305. cam is a 274/274 advertised duration .450"/.450" lift on 106lsa. found a cheap set of headers and $50 spread bore edelbrock intake mani, so those will go on whenever they get here also, and we'll see if we can get 200whp out of the ol girl hahaha

don't right off that 305 just yet. Super chevy did an article on hopping it up and making 400 hp with it! My magazines are long gone but I'm sure if you look, you can find it. It was built by westech in California. I think it was heads and a cam and stuff but it was cheap enough to get your rocks off. Belated welcome btw.

i read that article! unfortunately i won't be going as far as putting heads on it. intake should be here in the next day or two, already got the cam in it just waiting on the last piece (and my next set of days off of work) to get it done. that plus the good ol miller locker should happen this week and i'll post up some closed course burnout videos if that suits all your fancys
