going to stick with the EFI to keep it reliable and easy, plus i may throw boost at it eventually if i get bored of it, and i have very limited carb experience but a ton of EFI and tuning experience, no pro by any means but that BMW put me thru my paces.
jBreu come and take it haha has a spun crank bearing and could use new cam bearings, the amount of machine work it needs would cost more than the 5.3.
budget building this. aiming for about $6500 at the end of it including the car, new brakes, suspension, wheels and tires, paint, and the bolt on built 5.3. tempting to take this HX35 i have sitting on the basement and just plop that on there since when i do the fuel system for the 5.3 i'll be doing an A1000 to support any future mods anyway.
question for everyone now, how do the rear ends hold up in these cars? if i go the 28 spline axle route will i be good with my low 400 horse setup? or should i just start looking to upgrade right away.
