Concrete floor/pad for mudroom is poured. Siding was finished on the west wall, electrical trench filled back in. Spray foamers are supposed to be here next Thursday...

I am glad things are going good for you now. I am in the final stages of our build and things have soured. I give my contractor one last try. I told him either he dose what I ask or walks the **** away! I have run out of patients with him. We will see next week if he pulls through or I will have to do a lot more work my self.

That sucks 🙁 Trust me, I know how you feel. Unfortunately we really don't have any other choice so we're trying to walk a fine line of kicking him in the *ss and not saying anything. We'd never be able to find someone to finish/build it as cheap as he is. And the work he does is good, just very slow at times. I guess if we wanted quicker we should've paid more, but that just wasn't in the cards.

That builder makes huge progress for running a skeleton crew or sometimes just himself. I think he's earned every dime of his pay. Construction is brutal work and to have someone that is not only fast but also skilled is a rare thing indeed. Building never goes as planned but in your case I'd cut him a mile of slack. Most general contractors would just ride you out waiting for available subs to do the work they are either to lazy or inept to do. How far behind "schedule" is your project?

Currently 6 weeks, and that's from when HE said it would be done...

Splitting the hotel rooms between NY and Sydney while your house was apart seems like it's been a good plan.

Wish I wasn't half way round the world while it was being built for a month. We might not be in this situation!
