We have power! Bout damn time. Also the spray foamers are doing their thing today. It's killing me that I can't go inside and check it out, but those fumes are really bad for you and I don't feel like trying to find a clean air supply to wear. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow.

Yep, they still have some clean up to do, and to spray the mudroom which isn't even built yet, and the rim joists in the basement. Sheetrock guys are coming tomorrow to move all the materials in, then actually start on Tuesday. I spent the day insulating some interior walls. Not for heat, but rather to minimize sound. Bathroom to master bedroom, and living room to master bedroom. Forgot to take pics. I'll snap some tomorrow.

I did the insulation in most interior walls and also used solid core doors for noise control. Didn't realize that the HVAC guys would be cutting bigass holes for grilles above all the doors except the bathrooms when they trimmed out. Oh well. Still glad I did it though.

Thanks! It's amazing how much quieter the house is now. Plus the heat retention of course. The heater they were using was turned off yesterday at 5pm, the house was still over 50 degrees this morning when I showed up. Granted it was warm last night, but the wind was also whipping.

It's been a long day and I completely forgot I made a quick video walk thru of it. Shows the insulation I put today too.

I know a guy that does drywall for a living. He did a huge house on the east end of LI that had 3/4" plywood on the INTERIOR walls followed by 5/8 sheetrock that was glued and screwed. Think about the cost for materials and labor. Not only for the guys putting it all up but for the electricians bringing all the boxes out to flush. The guy said you could almost shoot someone in the next room and not hear it. LOL

Just curious...what does that much urethane smell like? I see that stuff being used all the time on This Old House...and how does it handle fire?

It smells like chemicals until it finishes off gasing, and it does NOT handle fire well. Must be covered. But it insulates very well!
