I bought an aftermarket pump I got tired of piecing it together.
Turna,

Any chance I can get a picture of your set up and the information on your pump/hoses/box? I've had about enough of playing games with this set up. I need to feel like I am winning something here with this car. haha Thank you!

I currently own a 1987 SS.... wouldn't that be the same box?
Yes, I guess it got past me that you have an SS. The cars that didn't have the F41 package had a more mundane box.

Is it possible that the power steering lines are reversed on the gear box?

it the lines are mixed on the steering box you will know instantly, the wheel with go back and forth violently, hard enough to break your wrist.

Also, meant to mention, I don't think it is normal for the PS fluid to get super hot like that.

Okay! Solution to the problem! I was correct in thinking it was the box itself. After pulling the lines off the box and draining the brand new pump and can I got more metal shavings then you could imagine. More damage must have been done while the car sat open like that then I knew of - But for $200 total, I replaced new pump, new return hose, new seals, remanufactured box, and installed it all. Bled the system and now it works perfect. Thank you all for your input. It is DELIGHTFUL to be able to turn the wheel with the weight of the big block over the front end! Thanks again.
