And for the record, fuel injection in it's basic form has been around since the 20s. Only as of the past 20-30 years have we started to get good at it.
Could be the acceleration pump seal went bad. Modern E10 gas will swell most common acceleration pump seals except for top grade nitrile replacement seals. Lots of cheap carb rebuild kits that can't stand E10 floating around, who knows what grade rebuild kit was used? Generally Qjets are very E10 resistant but there are sub standard rebuild kits to avoid.
Also EFI has been around since the 1950s, it's old school LOL. Direct injection is from the 1900s. Alot of stuff people think is modern is really pretty old.
