New to me 1982 Grand National project basket case

Working on the car this evening. I removed the quarter glass, doors, and some of the brightwork. Also found two holes in the roof on both sides that appeared to have maybe a seam sealer or putty is that factory?

That would be GM’s liberal (read grossly excessive) use of seam sealer. Do enough digging in these cars and you’ll see just how horrendous their use of it was.

And the insanity of this 82 continues 😁 the car with the frame still under it was my old 1986 GN that I lost to a house fire back in 2013 will be incorporating it into the 82.

What is that, you own private Regal grave yard? That's a good number of them there.

Nope not mine not going to go into details on the others as they aren’t mine some very good cars out there that will hopefully be restored. I will say the owner is big in the turbo Buick community

I just put pounds of it in the trash... and then got to fix some rust it created.

Same here. I swear my door is 5lbs lighter without the seam sealer and old paint.

When I removed the firewall off the 85 donor car the sides and floor pan seam were full of it
