Moving right along as I took a break from it last night to do some work on the Indy. This evening I’ve removed the passenger fender (inner and outer) the heater box is now removed. This car definitely shows evidence of being parked under a tree at one point the drains for the heater box are completely blocked which probably attributed to the floor pan rust. There is some scale around it with a couple very very small pinholes where the engine harness goes through under the box. I’m going to try and get the drivers fender off this evening as well along with the core support I will be replacing the core support as someone took a torch to it on the drivers side. Also doing the very important steps bagging and tagging. Thankfully when I put this back together I’ll have the Indy to use for reference for most stuff.

Moving right along, the drivers fender is removed, wiring harness removed. I did find another rust spot around where the parking brake cable goes up into the car. Looks like debris just accumulated there like it did at the wiper motor and rusted it out. Tomorrow evening will be removal of core support unfortunately I won’t be reusing it as someone took a torch to it... also want to get the bumpers removed along with the taillights. My z34 is supposed to be leaving tomorrow so I will have some funding, but more importantly I have a rack full of parts in my building I will bring back to my garage that way I can get all my parts nice and organized for the inventory

I agree with others here. You have covered alot of ground in just a few days. I applaud your perservereance. Looks like you've got some rust issues in the firewall and cowl areas. I know you mentioned trying to patch up those areas. Any ideas on how you're going to do it? Any thoughts about taking the body off the frame for further inspection and repairs? Keep up the updates please. I'm enjoying watching your progress.

Yes I’ve been looking at rotisserie’s and other ideas on how to safely hold the body after removal from the frame. My plan with the rust issues in the firewall area really depends on my parts car firewall as far as I know it’s in good shape. What I would like to do is cut out the good sections on the parts car and section them into my existing firewall. I’m trying to avoid replacing the whole firewall if at all possible

Didn’t get as much done this evening like i planned. I was liquidating one of my project cars. I did manage to get my metal shelf back into the garage and get everything nice and organized

Core support and front bumper off. I’ve got to cut one bolt on the rear bumper shock and then it will be free. Going to try and get what little bit of the interior remains out this weekend and get the firewall insulation removed along with the interior wiring harness as I’m going to have to make some repairs due to the radio wiring being cut and spliced also plan on tidying up the harness quite a bit just to make it a little neater. I also ordered my first piece of replacement metal today I ordered the t top header panel to fix the rust for the roof. Still looking at floor pans. Does anyone have any recommendations on a full floor pan

I saw that one earlier will probably get it. Just wasn’t sure if there was a particular vendor one found easier to work with on it since it is so large to ship
