A Buick 350 will fit if you put your original motor mounts back in butYou have a Pontiac car so it should have a Pontiac motor in my opinion. You already have the motor mounts and transmission so be patient and look for a 350 or 400. I believe that a 71 and up block will bolt to the 301mounts. Summit has adapters to use a 60's block

I agree, the 301 is running, I don't have to be in a hurry. Hopefully I will fall into something. I called all the salvage yards around here, but this is North Dakota, we just don't have the numbers of old iron around here. But I am not in a big hurry.

I found my Pontiac 400 on craigslist. Watch for something to pop up

do you remember the part number for the engine mounts your used for your Buick engine?
just cheapo mounts from oreillys.
Left: B2382 ~$14
Right: B2384 ~$9.50

Pontiac didn't make the 3.8, Buick and Chevrolet did.
...I know. I said he'd need a donor car with a BUICK 3.8 engine in it to transfer parts to this potential Buick 350, as I did. My car was a 231/3.8 car, so that made my engine swap choice easy.

Scour junkyards. Post a WANTED add on craigslist, or facebook. That's how I found my first Buick 350. Don't be afraid to travel to get one either, as a last resort. I went to Omaha from Des Moines for my current 350. Any 70-76 pontiac will 99% of the time have a pontiac engine in it. Rear distributor, cocked at an angle is the tell tale sign. Chevy and olds have the distributor in the back as well, Olds has an oil fill tube up front coming out of the block, chevrolet doesnt. Chevrolet has the dumb distrubutor through the intake design, pontiac and olds do not.

I found this one on facebook in grand forks, north dakota. If you have facebook, here's the link. If not, if you know someone that does (son, daughter, etc), have them look it up for you and get in touch with the guy: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/667952646890567

It's a pontiac 400, from 67/68.

I also found these pics of a 301. Its a turbo, but I believe the mounting points are the same as yours. Find a pontiac engine with them in the same spot, and it should drop right in.
