Hey guys I just wanted to know what these 2 items are near my distributor? Is one of these for my oil pressure?

First one is plumbing for the oil pressure gauge. The last little brass piece sets it up for a mechanical gauge.

The silver object with the vacuum line on it is the vacuum advance for the distributor.

Thanks for all the help guys. I thought thats what the brass thing was for but I wasnt sure lol. Where exactly does the other end of the vacuum advance go? in the carb? I definitely wont be starting it up until all my vacuum lines are in the right spot and my gauges are hooked up. I don't really feel comfortable breaking in the new cam shaft without seeing my oil pressure and rpm and water temp

Thanks again!

I've never seen two hoses on a vacuum advance before. One should go to the ported connection on the carb.

There's actually only one hose coming off of it. It's just curled around in the pic and looks to have 2 hoses coming out of it lol

Thanks for the info though, its always appreciated. I'm sure I'll get the vacuum system all figured out tomorrow when i start getting ready to fire it up.. well I hope will anyways haha

Oh wow, that makes sense. My boys 1980 had so many hoses it looked like an octopus orgy under the hood. Once I hooked up the important ones it ran like a charm. I think all you really need is vacuum advance, brakes, pcv, and maybe the cruise.

well that's good to hear. I've already removed all the crap that i think is unneeded under there so hopefully it'll just be a matter of hooking a few hoses up and ill be good to go 🙂 thanks again
