that's SOP for a dealer. remember, warranty repairs are only the broken part. if you have a plastic water pump impeller that melts and drops pieces into the coolant flow, they don't flush the coolant system--it's not broken. no do they replace the timing belt that rode on a bad pulley, prematurely wearing it--but not breaking it. or in your case, they do the broken bearing, not the others. even though you and i both know that the bad bearing dumped particulate into the system screwing up the rest of them. common sense ceases to exist when you enter the dealership.
btw, it's not the mechanics fault. it's what he's forced to do by his boss. sometimes the tech is smart enough to argue, sometimes not. and they only get paid for (and parts for) the minimum repair. even if they do a full one, so they get screwed.

Fox News and Consumer Reports team up to report what any person with a shred of common sense should've been able to figure out.
The problem with common sense is that these days, it's not so common...

It breaks my heart that people are so ****ing stupid that this type of thing isn't an instinct, but I guess there's a phrase for it... "natural selection".

but I guess there's a phrase for it... "natural selection".
that doesn't exist anymore in the US. darwin has been rewritten to "survival of the dumbest"--at least by the gov't and interest groups.

that's a warning that socialism is creeping in.....we've been stuck with socialism for years up here and it allows the lazy ones to rely on the system for their lifestyle while they bleed the system dry. A high ranking Canadian politician needs a heart operation but the procedure is not available up here so he's heading to the US to have the required operation. Yes, gov heath care is great as long as your healthy and you don't mind paying for those who don't even thank you

man, this thread wont die! :blam:

Its not Socialism its Capitalism do the lest for for max profit. As for the Canadain politican that is called line jumping and working toward a two tier health care. We still have a very good helth care in Canada. No its not perfect but still very good As for tech,s that is tough, shops want max profit and the presure is hi to make time. It is very hard to be good and fast every day. Only when you are very good, have union backing, and have your bills under control, can you take a customers flywheel to the machine shop across the street on your lunch break. When the shop forman told you not to turn the flywheel on a cluch job, so the shop can make more profit. This was not me but my brother.

that's a true liberal way of looking at things but I run my own business so that is why I don't like my efforts to support those unwilling to make an effort....unions are a form of communism with those in charge looking out for their own interests while the workers do all the work and suffering....and you need to educate yourself on the actual condition of the health care in canada
