I was going to use a FlowKooler pump

I had the GMB HiFlow pump on the 307 didnt even last a year.

They did replace it for free but I dont need that headache with the 403 with those siamesed walls

I just put a Flowkooler on my Buick motor. Flowkooler uses a GMB pump and just presses on their own CNC milled impellers. BUT- there are two lines of GMB pumps. One has "GMB" laser etched in the casting. The other has "GMB" cast into the housing. The laser etched ones are made in China, the cast-in ones are made in Germany. Flowkooler only uses the German made ones.

Also I think the thermostat that olds307 and 403 is referring to is a Robertshaw thermostat, they are very well designed and good quality thermostats. I have one of those going in my Buick engine as well.

GMB's are supposed to be made in Japan according to what Summit told me.

I was turned off by them simply because NO where on the box does it say where they are made.

That usually means a 3 cents an hour country.

This is the one I have with the cast in logo.

I've used alloyboltz twice. if they got every bolt for a buick 350, they should have 403 stuff. or can put something together for you.

As for the thermostats I think they are all junk these days

I will most likely use a restrictor plate

I thought it was Germany but I think you might be correct, probably is Japan. I know for sure the cast-in logo pumps are supposed to be better quality that the laser etched logo pumps.
