I feel your pain. I worked hard to have AC with my upgrades. I bought a cheeper new compressor and the same thing happened to me. I will have to put a new clutch on mine. F##k it, just drive faster with the Windows down.

Now that we have jumped from summer to winter here in the mid-Atlantic, I needed to start using my heat. Well, that ain't work so good; it's lukewarm, kind of like a heat pump in your house. I didn't think it was a blend door problem because I had adjusted that during the A/C battle. I didn't think it was a vacuum problem because the vents switched okay. Then, I started brainfvcking it. The heat temp came up with load, but diminished shortly after. My theory is that it's not pulling enough vacuum to operate the heater control valve, so today I put the vacuum reserve ball back in. Fingers crossed!
You might make sure the vacuum switching valve inside the HVAC controls isn't leaking vacuum off. I had to replace mine on the El Camino since it was leaking enough that I couldn't get the vents to stay on. Also, those colored vacuum lines seem to get brittle with age, so you might have a cracked line leaking off some of the vacuum.
Yeah, something isn't right. I'll check the blend door first, then the heater control valve. I have a Miti-Vac hand pump to check stuff with; just need to troubleshoot. This morning, it was better/warmer, but at the end of my 45 mile commute it was much colder than before. I did shove the temp control over, so may have f'ed something up. The damned thing runs cold anyway; don't even think the stat is opening. Who'da thunk I'd have an air-cooled 3800?!

Ok, I'm getting sick of the way these wheels look. The center just doesn't fit the lines of the car, and I want something better looking- cheeeeeep. So, plan one is to pull the center caps and try to fit the 14 wire covers on. If it works, the rim goes all satin back. Either way, the Fauxgues are staying. I did that that sh*t screws with people; I like it! Plan 2 is to leave the machined lip, tape off the "points" that extend into the center caps, and paint the wheel centers the same dark green as the 2 tone. Make sense?
yeah those wheels although great always lacked style. Even painting the faux lugnuts black would add something

Actually, I want the 3rd gen "fan" wheels, think 90 Formula. They're $800, though. The wire covers won't work out. I was close to getting it, but the studs are too short with the aluminum wheels. That defeats the purpose of it being a little to no cost project. I'm also having second thoughts about the green centers. I don't think it's going to look right.
On the other hand, I got some heat in the car, but it was also 55 degrees today. We'll see.
