It is I have tan, pink and black going to the sending unit the car was fuel injected before now its not I believe that is there from stopping the engine from running if you have no oil pressure so you don't toast the motor

That is the pressure trip for the electric fuel pump. If it don't pick up the right ohm rating from the oil switch (drop in oil pressure) it'll shut off the electric pump.

Power goes to the pump with the key on I checked with a meter and oil is pegged past 60 while running

Idk maybe a bad oil sender or the cluster could be bad all that works is clock volt meter and speedo does not go past 35

All I know is if the prob is related to a relay there are no relay harnesses anymore so I'm at a loss on this one

Ok, look, tan is power to the fuel pump at the sender. It should go directly to the fuel pump relay.
Pink at the sender should go to the gauge cluster only. Don't confuse it with other pink ignition leads. It just works the gauge.
That tan wire is different from the tan wire for the oil sender which should go possibly to the relay and the gauge.
There must be a good (excellent) ground connection in all places for it all to work correctly. Remember, the electrons flow negative to positive. It sounds like a bunch of unfvckin' ta do!

OK so I know that the grounds that should be excellent as you say are all unhooked I checked the car it used to have relays and now all of those wires are just sitting there cut with no plugs so there for the connection is not complete for the gauges to get any readings they get power but the ecu doesn't know the car is running because its carbureted now I just need to know which wires went to the relays and if I can just connect the wires without the relay to get the gauges to work

85 , is it fuel injected , trying to think when the tbi injection came out , I want to say 86 or 87 4.3 was a z engine code

My factory labels inside the car tell me do not pump the gas pedal this is a fuel injected vehicle
