ps as you learn the drivers in your class, you'll know who always chops down and who doesn't. don't fall into the "rough class" trap. run your own race, anticipate trouble, pass aggressively combined with smart driving.

I think in this case that driver who turned down has learned who he can't turn down on in the future...

I learned when I first started racing that it is a contact sport, and don't be afraid to get some battle scars, if you let these guys push you around they will never stop, I know the main offenders well enough, they are notorious at local tracks for being dirty drivers, unfortunately they draw fans to see the crashing so nothing gets done

I drive my car the best way I can, I don't believe you have to bump or "move" people to make a hole, if you can't outdrive them and don't get lucky then you finish behind them, simple as that, BUT im not going to let them walk all over me either

as for my tires, they make us run DOT street tires in this class, I run 3 "Douglas" tires which to the best of my knowledge, are Goodyears rebranded and sold through Walmarts, my right rear tire is a Primewell, all 215/70R15 but the Primewell is slightly larger, staggering these tires with air pressure is very tricky, they seem to go larger the more air you let out

the only way I can get my tire temps, is to pull off the track into the infield and then off the track back into the pits, not allowed out of the car anywhere on the track, even on test and tune nights, got to be at your pit slab to exit the car

all in all it was a successful first race, I finished the race drove it on the trailer, could of probably made a podium but oh well

I did have a huge amount of fun, its a madhouse out there but as long as you sit back and laugh everything is ok

and another thing that impresses me is you were sitting comfortably in 4th but you took a shot to go for third with 3 laps to go, got sent to the back with only 3 laps to go but you kept your head and made your way back up to finish in the top 10...and drove your car onto the trailer..

you guys make it sound more impressive than it is lol

my humble opinion is, this is basically a beginners class, with a bunch of strokers and few aces thrown in, I am not a beginner but im also not an ace(yet 🙂 ) and as a result, I went to the rear and blew the doors off 6 cars in 3 laps, those guys were the beginners running in the rear, I would be a pretty shameless person if I was proud of that

my car seems to be working a lot better now, the front and rear both stick throughout the turn, and thanks to my engine/trans setup I can just about stop mid turn and still pull them out of the turns, the curse of the automatic I suppose, loose momentum and it falls on its face, this makes me very fast in traffic on race night, I can run in hard and stop but still get out fast

the car I ran behind half the race is a very well known late-model driver in a very fast car(black #31), he got around the second place car (white #2) and I didn't get the chance to follow, I got a good run out of turn 4 on him and pulled along side down the straight, enter turn 1 and he tries to shove me off the track, thats when I turned him and they sent me to the rear

that is about to exit turn 2, I pushed him all the way through the turn before turning and going outside of him, I made an effort to back out when he came down on me going into turn 1, but it was too late and I was not going to get pushed off the track, I guess to some people it looked like I was roughing him up, including the track "officials"

the #2 finished third, black #31 finished second and an out of town car than I lapped during the first warmup session won the race, guess it pays to start out front and stay out of trouble, I pulled along side the #31 twice on the outside during the race, but I could not go anywhere from there, so I had to stay behind him and wait

did not damage anything on my car other than bodywork and paint, it did lift the front of my car up and I heard a spring pop back in once I got loose from him, but I checked everything out and it seems ok

That is a cool pic.

Remind me not to mess with you if I go to Auburndale!

Won't be long and you'll be bored out of your skull looking at the clear track in front of you while all the mess is going on 20 car lengths back.

And don't sell yourself short. Running well in any class in any short track in the country (or Canada!) is something most people in the stands only dream of doing and you're actually doing it.

that is a cool picture and to me from where the contact area is on the "victim" car it implies that you were up around his door when he turned down on you....also does his bumper extend to the edge of the fenders?...It looks like it just hanging there waiting to hook anything that goes by...

don't mess with me? nah 😛 I am a very nice person overall, always willing to help others in the pits, one Saturday night I spent more time working on a strangers car than my own, well me and my little crew of friends and family, 90% of the drivers are nice people, the rest are just bad eggs

as for the white car in that picture, I was pretty much door to door with him going into the turn, I saw his face as he looked over his shoulder and started cutting the wheel to the left, hes been racing out here for years and has a bit of an attitude, didn't like the new guy passing him I suppose, and yes his front bumper is illegal, extends past the fenders and comes back around to touch the frame, no real damage to my car, just benched the right front fender in a bit

you can see the championship stickers on his windshield, that is an old car that has been winning out here for many years, and I was pushing him around the track, running first gear with a nice smooth 2 barrel makes up for my lack of engine

and of course a good setup on my car, thanks to you guys 😀
