Hello,

Looking for advice. I am looking to clean up the wiring mess under my dash. I have purchased a Painless Auxiliary Fuse Block P/N 70107. Where is best mounting location for an Auxiliary Fuse Block? If you have installed one, advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Russ

I installed a 70207 in the engine compartment of the Mustang last year, it is weatherproof as has a fuse cover (like Doug's) and in back the wiring connections are covered with a block of epoxy. I recommend being careful of using Doug's mounting location as the 70107 is not weatherproof.

I don’t off hand remember my model number, but if yours is the same as mine. The main power wire is more than long enough to go over to the battery. I mounted the small connection box on the frame just below the battery. The length of all the other wires from my mounting position reached any where under the hood and into the interior.

I just checked Painless’s websight, the fuse blocks for 70107&70207 look to be exactly the same. You could contact them about buying the rubber cover separately and mount it wherever you want.

Thanks All! If I can find a place in the engine compartment that is "hidden" yet not terrible to get to, I'll go that way. If I could have my cake and eat it too, I'd like to find a place "close" to the OEM one. The engine compartment might be the way I go.

I'll agree with Doug, but really it depends on how close you can get it to the components tied to it. It's a shame you already bought it. I can't stand Painful stuff; Blue Sea products are much better.
I looked at their stuff. I had not heard of it till you mentioned it. Here's to hoping I don't burn the car down! LOL! Thanks for the input!
