Yea you defentely went to far on the sanding , should have stoped around 600, have had guys go 800 when using black ,i would agree with the other guy and try to find a booth to rent. Otherwise your running the chance of wasting the paint money and sanding your car all over again. 50 % overlap on your passes when spraying double/ triple check everything to be covered that you dont want overspray on , if you have some old sheet metal do a testpanel so you can see how the paint lays out in the temp your working with. If your doing it at home buy alot of cheep drop clothes and cover the floor and ceiling walls to keep dust and what ever out , goodluck post some pics when your finished.
