My first choice would be white, but I am biased. GM code 79, dark maroon, is a really nice color. Heres a pic of color

I think I might spray my other Regal that color whenever I get around to doing something to it. Someday.

 holy crap, that's gorgeous!

however, that being said, if you're cloning a car, maroon wouldn't be the way to go.... you don't see many that color, but everyone and their brother has theirs in the other colors.... I'm planning mineral grey with a maroon gsx stripe myself....

I am really digging the new copper bronze color GM has called Inferno Orange Metallic...

Flat black is cool for a while, cheap and easy. Hard to cover up if you change your mind, like you almost have to paint/primer the car with light gray to go to a lighter color.

But, on the flat black, you could leave all the black out trim, add some red pin stripes and viola' SR-71 styling!

Work with me here, I am usually a GM code 10 or 11 arctic or frost white kinda' guy.

The paint code is on the SPID label on the trunk lid. If your car is one color look for numbers with a U at the end of it. What color is your car now?

A two code with code 79 and gun metal grey would look pretty sweet too. Don't see many with that color combo.

There were 2 maroon colors in 83.
1- code 74 wa8237 Autumn Maple Firemist
2-code 78 wa8486 Dark Autumn Maple.
You could call your local dealership and give them the VIN number and they should be able to give you the paint code for the car. HTH

Can anyone tell me the color of MY car? It is a 83 with a 86 nose. I know that the nose and fillers where painted by someone. Please dont use that as your guide. Use the faded, cracked paint.

Oh, to recap. There is NO SPID label, trunk was painted by previouse owner (bright red). The VIN is to old to pull the paint code.

HELP!!!!!!!!!
