picked up a 442 parts car today...

You have an ‘81-88 body style? Project Spare Parts is different in the quarter windows. Or are ya gonna replace the entire rear roof??
C'mon man. You ain't figured me out yet? We just make shizz happen! 😎

Fixed that for you. It's an 85 and it should have 5A heads. NON-roller engine if it's original. Also, if original carb, there is a "5" overstamp of the 17084554 application year number to change it to 17085554. Also the code letters got stamped over from 84. It may come with a mid-84 production date. It was simply an 84 H/O carb that got restamped. Only time I'm ever aware that they used specific carryover parts for production, although the carbs were normally produced AFTER the 84 H/O run. Confusing, but true. I have a couple of restamped original 85 442 carbs out in the shop. IIRC, one of them has a July 84 production date code.

not sure what is going on under there. everything looks original.. electronic carb and all is hooked up. but a friend noticed those heads and said there is something weird going on..

Damn shame someone let that one go like that... When I think "mid 80's 442" thats the exact car that pops in my mind.. T-Tops, Buckets, Gray/Gray...

Me too. Way back when these were new, I was selling wheels/tires/speed parts. I remember pulling the factory chrome wheels off of one of these and putting on Cragar Protechs...I thought the guy was nuts.

It should say 5.7 on the side of the block if it is an Olds 350 from 77 to 80.
