My SS is a factory cruise but no delay car, customer ordered by a GM employee who lived in Flint, most options but odd with that combo. The underhood light I believe was standard but seems with age most are disconnected or removed even. With a low mile car I wouldn't think so though, does it have auxillary lights like the floor/under dash when the doors open? I don't know if I've seen an SS without that yet.
Cars has all interior courtesy lighting. Glove box is not work for some reason.

I agree I would have thought under hood light is standard.

I can compare the two cars in the garage to see if it was removed.

Interestingly there are provisions for 2 and in my old blue 84 I installed a second one.

For Monte Carlo's, regardless of trim level, besides the glove box & ashtray lights came standard with foot well lights compaired to Malibu's & if remembering right early El Camino's. Under hood & trunk lights were part of the courtesy light group RPO. Only my '86 Monte Carlo parts car have the hood & trunk lights as my '79 Landau & '81 base car did not. A factory car will have a orange wire coming out of the front harness side of the C100 junction & will have the trunk light.

87 with no under hood light has a trunk light. I found the plug for an under hood light. Also took a pic of the mounting point for the under hood light. This low option car never had it.

Last is a picture from the Aerocoupe that had the light.

Interesting, I assumed the under hood light was standard since it seems every or almost every car I've come across in the later years had it.

Recently picked up a mostly stripped 87' SS as a parts car. Might be the lowest option SS I've seen or noticed. Only options are AC and tilt. Radio isn't deleted but the most basic probably standard radio listed. Solid bench, no power stuff, not even tinted glass.
