I now Hate GM !!! My fave car Pontiac is soon to be dead . I know they have really been dead for along time but thats gm's fault Pontiac should have always been the performance brand but no they thought we needed BMW's instead.And yes cars should have names not stupid stuff like g6 and so on.

um, i admited i was mistaken, i didnt find a source that was outdated to prove i was right. Turns out it was just a rumor, but see i did not back up my claims, you backed up yours with a 2 year old article. That 2 year old article, was out of date when a few months later this article came out.

so basically, the next generation of corvettes may be dead, but if things get worse at gm, the vette will probably be one of the things to go.
its not like they are taking all the vettes off the shelves, it just may not be put back into production after this generation of vette runs out.

It will be sad to see it go. The 2 G-bodies I ever owned wee an Olds (81-4dr) and the 84 Pontaic GP.

Well, when I speak about Buicks, it is from direct experience, I have an 05 Rendezvous AWD that if I didn't purchase the extended warranty I would be out almost $10,000. It is going through wheel bearing assys, the bushings in the rear links need to be replaced, GM doesn't make just a bushing, you have to buy the entire assy for about $400 each. I had a 97 Chev Z71 I had to have the intake gaskets replaced on, plus those on my 97 Grand Prix as well (ever hear of the class action lawsuit against GM?).
I know Japanese cars have issues as well, but I haven't seen this happening with them. The economy is one thing but my personal economy comes first and if GM can't make reliable vehicles and won't make any Pontiacs which before the Buick were the only passenger vehicles I bought, I am out. Plus, most of the Japanese cars sold here are made in North America with much better control on produciton costs and the absence of unions.
Lastly, why would I buy a Camaro if I am a Pontiac fan? My sister has a 05 Vette and at 6'4" I can't even sit up straight in the thing, hardly worth the $40,000 she paid for it to me..
