Good work. You may want a heat shield between the pipe and starter. Pontiacs are notorious for hard start after a heat soak.
Thanks. I'll get a heat shield or replace it with one of those mini starter.

Most 301's came with a heat shield. You can make it fit the bigger starter.

Are those supposed to be smashed there? I mean, it wont hurt power that much if at all, but... kinda looks like you Bo-Duke'd it lol.

The exhaust shop did what they could to make it fit.Its not pretty but it works lol

I like using a Ford style solenoid with headers. The Ford solenoid doesn't get heat soaked and you only have the battery cable to connect to the starter which is only live when starting the engine.
