Hi I have a question, I have a posi from a s10 28 spline . I can buy 28 spline g-body axcels from summit, then Im going to put all this stuff in my el camino rear...7.5 this should work right?

yes, make sure your gears fit the carrier too, you may need a spacer if you are using stock gears or buy new ones to fit

g-body is all alone in the length department.

The stock axles out of a g body 8.5 rear are 28 spline and will work in the 7.5. So if you can find someone that is upgrading the axles in their 8.5, they might sell the stock ones. Kind of a long shot.

It is a "posi" or a Gov-lok?

thanks for input what is the down side if any to a gov loc ? better than posi?

A gov-lok has to have one wheel already spinning for the other to lock.

Then a small pawl engages locking the axle.

If you are making decent power and hook with sticky tires the pawl will give/snap.

Might be OK for a driver with street tires because you will spin before it snaps.

There are better options.

thanks I think I might stay away from gov loc..(I hate saying I knew I should have)
