Possible 1979 w30 purchase

I'd be interested in some interior panels as backups, and maybe the seats.
She’s rough. I’m waiting until my wife gets over the shock of me buying it before I take the cover off to get good pics. For some reason my wife thinks the neighbors will think we’re trashy if I have old cars in the driveway. At least with the cover on only the wheels show and the car looks good.

If it's the stock engine it should be a 350 olds. You'll need the frame stands to swap it into your Malibu.

It is and it’s still in the car so I’ll have everything necessary for the swap. Not crazy about an olds engine in a Chevy but it’s better than what’s in there.

you'll like the extra torque of the 350.

79 spec 350... Marginally. Get some 455 c heads, or some 68-72 350 heads to bump the compression a little. Cam, Thornton 350 manifolds. Good runner.

The kid took me for a ride in the car before I bought it and it had more power than my Malibu for sure. Has oil leaks galore right now. I would love to take the olds out but there’s no insurance on it so that’s not happening.

Felpro rebuild it is lol

So I got the car in my garage tonight and to say it’s rough would be an understatement. So far what’s salvageable:
The front clip, some bad bodywork but can be straightened. The header has a little damage but repairable.
maybe the passenger door, depending on how bad you need a door
C and c t tops- you guys were right I found the label.
shifter and console
Front Seats are there and have some small rips but frames are good
Engine/trans
Wheels
Maybe one or two interior plastic panels. The car is as bad as I thought. But the more I think about it a lot of the stuff that is good is going to go into my Malibu. I’ve thought about taking the car to work and pulling the frame and body but I think it’s just too far gone to justify, believe me I’ve tried. I snapped some pictures. Found some of the original gold below the bad paint. Shame they covered it up.
